Blade And Soul: A lot of old korean MMOs didn't have afk timers

A lot of old korean MMOs didn't have afk timers because they made players setup shops to sell amoungst each other, ROSE, Flyff, and many other very old korean MMOs did this. While this was done for the sake of allowing players to drive their own economy by hosting the shops themselves, developers figured out there was a much more sinister reason to not kick AFK players.

A player that leaves the game running and just AFKs doesn't fully psychologically disconnect for Cheap BNS Gold, they have a mental note inside of their head that reminds them subconciously that they are still logged in.

Log in morning, play a bit, afk in your favorite spot, and come back the game's still running and ready to go when you get back home. It's a small bit of psychological connection to a game that allows players to grow more attached to the game without ever actually doing anything. It's a small bit that adds to the immersion of game, and being kicked for AFK breaks this mental connection. Western MMOs have had AFK kick timers for a while.

Infact Prius Online took this a bit further with their AFK and one of your characters, anima wouldn't make any noises unless you were AFK. Once your character sat AFK, your Anima would start making adorable noises every once in a while, and the game purposely didn't mute when you tabbed out of the game. So unless you muted the game you'd still hear your character every once in a while make a noise subconciously saying to you "Hey Im here!"

It may seem a little bit sinister, but personally I'm inclined for them to not have an AFK kick timer and stay with the korean trend with BNS Power leveling. I like that sense of going to bed and still hearing the game on my speakers while AFK, and other players pass my character by. It's a strange and soothing ambience that was wonderful to have in my older MMOs and with Blade and Soul, it's nice to have that feeling again.
